This is a seasonal position. The head lifeguard is responsible to the day-to-day operations of the pool facilities. The head lifeguard will supervise all lifeguards and will perform all routine maintenance tasks relating to the appearance of the facility in a courteous and professional manner. The lifeguard will adhere to a strict set of guidelines to protect users of the pool facilities and to ensure the safest and cleanest environment possible. Supervise lifeguards. Check water levels. Assign cleaning duties. Render CPR/First Aid when necessary. Be familiar with the Lifeguard Personnel Manual. Be on time and ready for work. Be at pool side or in the stand whenever there are swimmers at the facility and never leave pool while swimmers are in pool. Ensure that all interior areas of the pool are always are clean and safe. Enforce all rules equally with all users. Comply with all attendance and dress code guidelines. Be able to implement the pool’s emergency management plan in the event of an emergency. Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Coordinator. Cash handling duties; maintain accurate chain of custody form. Knowledge of rescue and risk prevention. Ability to correctly utilize safety equipment. Ability and willingness to work a flexible shift including weekend and holidays. Ability to process cash transactions and give correct change.
Qualifications: Must be 16 years old at the beginning of the season (Memorial Day). Certified pool operator. Position requires certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR, and First Aid. A valid Ga. Driver’s Licenses preferred.
Salary Grade: $12.00 per hour.
